Global Trends: Issues to Consider
Join the PA ACE Women’s Network on the historic campus of Dickinson College for breakfast and networking to enrich and broaden our professional relationships.
Dr. Margee Ensign, President of Dickinson College, will share her thoughts on historical and current trends in human development, and their implications for education based on her experiences working in various institutions around the world.
Doors will be open at 8:00 am with breakfast beginning at 8:30 am.

Partnering Across the Sectors of Higher Education
This event is an opportunity for women across sectors of higher education to hear from two leaders in the community college realm. Whether you are just curious about other types of higher education institutions, or actively seeking new opportunities, this session will open a dialogue about partnering across institutional types. Dr. Kathleen Hetherington, President of Howard Community College and Diane Bosak, VP for Workforce Development, Achieving the Dream, will lead the discussion.
Dr. Kathleen Hetherington, president of Howard Community College (HCC), has dedicated her career in higher education to advancing the mission of community colleges. With more than 40 years of progressively responsible community college leadership experience, Dr. Hetherington is the fourth president of Howard Community College (HCC) and the first to be a community college graduate.
Diane Bosak is Vice President for Workforce Strategies and Policy at Achieving the Dream. In this role, Diane leads efforts around expanding workforce services with network colleges.

Dr. Susan Looney, President of Reading Area Community College
Dr. Susan Looney has had a remarkable journey to her current role as President of Reading Area Community College. A high school dropout at the age of 16, Susan decided to devote her life to her family’s harness horse racing business, becoming one of the most successful female harness drivers in the nation. She holds the record of being the youngest driver to win a race at the Meadowlands Racetrack and the first female driver to win a race at Garden State Park. After a serious racing accident, Susan began to re-evaluate her life’s goals and entered a community college after earning her GED. She completed her associate degree, continued on for a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business, a Juris Doctorate, and ultimately a doctorate in educational leadership. Dr. Susan Looney is a passionate advocate for education, promoting the role of the community college as a valuable partner in community and economic development.
